Padmasana (Lotus pose)
Lotus is called Padma. The body of the seeker becomes like a lotus while doing the asana. That’s why it is called Padmasana.
This is an excellent posture for meditation. In this posture, the body can be kept completely stable for a long time. Initially it seems difficult to sit in this asana, but with regular practice it becomes self-evident. In this posture, the torso and head remain straight and stable as if they were made of stone, and the position of the feet provides a firm support.
First of all, let us understand this asana. It is said to be the provider of all achievements. This asana must be practiced. It purifies all the pulses (72,000) of the body. How to do Padmasana (Lotus pose)
(1) First of all sit on the ground with your legs extended.
(2) Fix the heel of the left foot in the core of the right thigh.
(3) Now establish the heel of the right foot at the core of the left thigh.
(4) Touch both the knees to the ground and keep the spine straight.
(5) Fix the vision on the tip of the nose.
(6) Keep the palms one above the other below the navel i.e. near the ankles.
(7) If you want, keep the wrists on the knees in the position of Gyanmudra.
(8) Keep breathing.
